M5OD Repair Thread
Can someone please direct me to the M5OD leaking transmission plug repair thread. I know I have read it here but search as I may I have not been able to find it again!

Just did a search for m5od. I am getting ready to do a clutch and pressure plate replacement on my m5od and will have the plugs replaced then. 1990 300cid w/ 150k and the original clutch. This is my first post as a member and hope to more. I am currently waiting to buy a 2004 f-150 Lariat when the rebates hit! But I will keep my old 6-banger - it's been a good one!

the reasonyour tranny is leaking, i believe, is because there are 3 rubber freeze out plugs in the top of the tranny by the shifter. they are probly dryrotted like mine are and the tranny is leaking between the rear of the tranny and fthe front of the tcase adaptor. you gotta replace those grommets w/ brass ones. i'll give you a link to a site that gives the part number for the dorman brass freeze out plug.
