Hit and Run

not having much luck with police department needing to link this guys truck to my car. Can anyone tell me the paint scheme code make model or any specifics to this style ford? Mainly pain code for this exact year model and trim package? I believe it’s a 96 model deluxe package. Not entirely sure? Lariat? Please help explain!!

This is the truck that shares the parking lot with me everyday at the post office.



White and Green/teal/mint paint transfer

Looks to me as if these are marks from the vehicle back or rolling up over my front end


Damages to his rear end along with scuffs and scratches matching damages to my vehicle but a police are saying trajectory doesn’t match up

 

IMHO,
I do not think that guys truck and your cars dents match up
His bumper would have creamed your car out way worse
I also do not think your car could have dented his white rear quarter without some paint transfer from your car onto his white

 

If you look closely at the dent you’ll see a dark blue hue along with a paint scratch. I’m thinking most of the damage was already there and present on his quarter panel, his bumper is what caused my front end damage.. I found my headlight plastic wedged in his bumper crease that seals to the tailgate..

also, I share this parking lot with this coworker everyday.. once damages were brought to my attention I confronted him.. he’s a kid. Barely 19 years old and had just previously had a wreck in a postal vehicle.. he quit his job two days after I involved the PD. I was trying to help the kid out.. I didn’t want to file criminal charges or ruin any opportunities for the kid. I just need my car fixed. His dad and him post lied to PD and I have come to find out he was involved in an accident according to his father who admits it was just that.. an “accident” not a hit and run.

Do you still think he is not responsible?
or does your opinion remain the same? He would have slowly backed into me please see photo of both vehicles in the original post.. as I am parked backwards in that photo and not facing the brick building as I was when hit and run occurred the day prior to this photo being taken.

 

Check out the indention and it’s lines. Perfect curve and fit like a puzzle to his crease in quarter panel.

Having an accident and knowing it, and then failing to notify the owner of damaged property or otherwise avoiding owning up to it as prescribed by law ... is a hit and run.

 

Parking lots are no fault around here so both owners have to fix their vehicles
That is unless one party owns up and admits fault
If neither do and the police do not witness it you are screwed and have to fix your car yourself
Once a lady and I were both backing and hit in a 7-11 parking lot
She was screaming bloody murder about how it was all my fault
Being younger then I told her to KMA She called the fuzz and she learned the law that day
Park next to a Tesla with cameras is my advice

 

We are located in Texas, which in this case 17k in damages is what I’m left with. The kid quit his job after I located who owned the vehicle and confronted him about it. I explained there was a witness.. however he was Hispanic and with my best guess I would say he was not a citizen and wanted no part in speaking with law enforcement.. he worked for a construction company who at the time was performing maintenance on a dentist office on the corner. There was a language barrier, with the help of another crew member he was able to tell me a close time frame from when the accident occurred, he happened to be sitting in his truck eating lunch at the time when he saw that truck in the above photos hit a blue car and he even got out and looked at the damages and then left!!!! I have found out the information I need. Make model and paint code.. I have a black stopper that fell from his truck into the bottom of the huge hole that was left where my headlight use to be… lol that links his truck and so many other things. The police officer has more than likely watched this kid grow up and is trying to save his @ss. I never wanted to cause any trouble or file criminal charges.. I just wanted his insurance information.. the officer never got a search warrant or anything to compare paint samples or anything.. I feel the case was poorly handled. Courtesy of a small down police department.. no disrespect intended here. I have a lot of respect for law enforcement, but after this incident have lost a lot of faith in the roel they play to honest people who need their help.

 

You will have to sue him and without a police report stating he is at fault it will be difficult

 

Yes I figured this is what I will have to do. Its ridiculous.
