F250 HD Shackle reversal?
I need help understanding a few things !. What is TTB 2. Why won't a shackle reversal kit like the one from Off Road Unlimited work on the F250? My goal is to soften the ride a wee bit on the front of my 97 F250 4x4 crew cab short bed 460. I don't want to lose any of the load capacity.

Ok I stumbled across the answer for TTB (Twin Traction Beam). I still want to find a solution for the front end. I read in Plowsite.com that the TTB is a weak design and has a tendancy to crack. Any help? I will be using the truck this season with a plow. The truck has never had a plow before.

Im in the same boat as you. I was told that ORU doesnt recomend the shackle reversal kit on the TTB because it cant hold up to the twisting of the spring. But when you think about it.... all leaf springs twist, even on solid axles. And to take it one step farther... My TTB front end doesnt flex (or move for that matter) at all. so the twisting would be less then that of a solid axle.

Shackle reversals seem to be a common mod for the jeep and IH people. I heard the bit about the twisting and that doesn't make sense to me. That whole stream of logic would make one think that the TTB withstands more stress than a solid axle. Anyone out there have the missing info to sort this one out?
