Need to know height to adjust 92 F150 headlamps

I need to adjust my head lamps on my 92 F150. The low beam seems OK but the High beam is only about 10 feet ahead of the low beam. What is the proper adjustment distance/height for them.

Best way to aim headlights is having the proper equipment attached to the headlight lens and aim them that way ... you ll be able to see fine at night and oncoming drivers will appreciate it as well .

Agree with the machine. However rule of thumb - flat level ground park vehicle 3m from a wall. Wall needs to be marked with a corresponding centreline to that of the vehicle. Measure either side of the centreline to the centre of the headlights and transpose measement to wall now measure height from ground to centre of headlight subtract 25mm( 1") and transcribe to wall. Turn lights onto park and adjust. The problem with rule of thumb is that some states/countries have special requirements and therfore the machine is the best approach.

I adjust mine by finding an empty parking lot, and adjusting the low beams out as far as they'll go without losing their intensity. I try to find a lot with a long straight line I can use to simulate the center line on the road and adjust left to right until it hits the line I'm using as a guide. If the high beams are too high - oh well.
