So I finally got this installed 4 months later. It's really nice, install was easy. The factory change tray fits a bit tighter than I'd like so I'll probably make some reliefs in it to loosen it up. Other than that it's high quality and fits well.
I've had console safes in my trucks (aftermarket) since they were first made and I've always been happy with them. So on the 2022, I got the OEM one from the factory. It wasn't long after I placed my order that I found the below safes from Lock'er Down. In comparison, I kind of wish I would have not ordered the OEM one due to the fact that the Lock'er Down appears to have a much wider door opening and possibly a better locking mechanism. While this doesn't resolve your change tray issue, I figured it might be worth a look. Looks like there may be a swap out in my future.

That one is similar style to OEM as it doesn't allow the tray to be used. I wanted the tray and to have the unlocked portion for quick access things. A little filing on my tray will allow it to fit better. I was surprised the OEM didn't allow the use of the change tray but I understand they don't actually manufacturer them.

Yeah, they are just rebranded Console Vaults. The thing that I like about the Lock'er Down is the much bigger opening. I put my Fusion Trailer cam screen in the vault when I'm not using it and it takes some wiggling to get it in the Console Vault opening due to the smaller size. But absolutely agree, this doesn't solve your tray issue. I don't honestly know if the below will fit in the console vault (doubt it will), but I have it on order and plan to try it out. If it doesn't work, I may be willing to just sent it to you.

I have the E&G in my ‘22 F250 and the tray wouldn’t fit. The tray from my ‘18 F150 did fit though, so I swapped them before trading in the F150. You might try to find a tray from an F150. I did inquire with Apollo Optics about the tray issue and they reached out to the E&G people. They said Ford uses a couple of different manufacturers for the tray, so some have fit and others have not. They plan on making an adjustment to their manufacturing to fix the issue.

Is the lid spring loaded to stay open? I hate when you have something like that and the lid is trying to shut on you when you're trying to dig for something.

I had one of these in my F-150 and tried to get it to work with the console vault in my F-250. No dice. Because of the way it mounts, it needs access to the rails that the hanging file tabs fit into. Ended up giving it to a co worker. Shame too because it was nice to have loose bits organized vertically. You do need enough "approach angle" to get to the lower bins though. Going through the small opening on the console vault would have bene a pain.
This is the one I have. Tuffy Console Safe Yes, the OEM tray will fit (on top of the safe lid) and it can be ordered with key or combo. I bought model 317-01 for my '19 F-450; fits perfect in my '22. The combo lock option is not apparent on their website, but pretty sure they still have it. When I bought it they swapped the key lock for a combo lock for minimum charge: $10 I think.

I think I like this one the best of what I've seen so far. I dont need the entire console locable. Just enough for wallet, extra cash a small bag of priceless jewels to impress my friends. Maybe a glock. I'd like to have room for some snacks and not valuable papers etc.
