Now, the smart-alecs in the crowd have to come up with inane thoughts, random pics. and general statements about their local weather conditions.
For the record, I'm currently at my Dad's house in Los Lunas, NM, and it's a pleasant 41 degrees with clear skies and absolutely no breeze what so ever. The bummer is, is that its dry as can be. We could really use some moisture.
I was going to start a new thread but this looks like the perfect place to post this. A couple years ago I started framing in and building the bathroom in my shop since I roughed in the drain when we built the house. I had it all framed and finished the outside of the room, but never completed the last connection to the water heater to finish the plumbing, so I never finished the inside. There always seemed to be something more pressing that needed done. Well, I decided it was time to get busy and finish it. So the spare time for the last couple of months has been doing just that. Plumbing, sheetrock, painting, I now have a functioning bathroom in the old gas station style. I found old, used fixtures on craigslist and ebay. I turned the box of the medicine cabinet into a diorama with a couple die cast trucks and some pictures of days gone by in the background. It's been a lot of fun recreating old stuff, and I know you guys know what that's all about or you wouldn't be here playing with old trucks. Anyway, enough of my rambling. Enjoy the pics.
1953 Kohler shelf back sink with rebuilt faucet, 1956 Scott roll towel dispenser with the little crank handle on the side, 50's medicine cabinet disassembled, derusted, painted and restored, even older light fixture and porcelain Boraxo soap dispenser. Even the light switch covers are period correct I found at the Habitat for Humanity Re-store.
Hey Wayne,
That bathroom is Way too clean to be authentic but
it's just beautiful. I totally appreciate the effort & look.
45 degrees here & drippy - my ear does itch. I hate
cedar season in Central Texas.
