I've discovered a water leak coming from my driver side fresh air vent. I assume the cowls are clogged and I will flush them out. But I tried to remove this panel , and the E brake assembly is in the way . The is a bolt that hold it to the dash , but there are two attachments to the fire wall that look like rivets. Since this sit right in front of the vent i cant get to two of the screws that hold the vent panel in place. Any ideas
You have to remove the e-brake pedal assembly. There are 2 nuts on the engine side of the firewall that are easiest reached by removing the wheel liner. It is a pretty good reach lying on your back.
Once the assembly is out of the way you can get all 4 screws out to see what it going on. Be prepared to clean out hands full of crud. Leaves, dirt, pine needles, etc... Have a shop vac and air hose ready.

Yep, the two nuts in the wheel well above the fender liner will release the parking brake assembly. Then you can get to the last vent screws.
Does that Wheel liner come out easy , im going to tackle today
It's not bad, just 8-10ish phillips screws along the bottom outside edge of the wheel opening on mine and then I could pull it out of the way enough to snake my arm in.
