holy hell! That is traumatizing. Hopefully ur not using those guys anymore that is crazy. Did they get you a new interior after that?
I saw a layer and the following week the owner of the dealership let me pick another truck. Had to pay a little more but upgraded to a 2019 F250. This winter had a tree land on it, interior had to be gutted to get to the roof damage. Found misc trim pieces broken. Didnt get upset because I already had the 2021 on order. Now this!! So thats why Im super paranoid about them taking it apart. And this is a different dealer, much more upscale...but Im still bugged out.
It's not about them fixing there f'ups, I don't doubt they would, they have to, but who wants to deal with that. The truck is already down for x number of days, add in some careless mistake or avoidable damage that now has to be repaired....there is no excuse. Let's say they scratch a fender, now the truck has to go to a body shop for how many day's, not to mention the chance it will never look the same as original. It happens all too often and I see nothing wrong with being concerned and even voicing that concern in a respectful manner. I've had scratches and dings happen from even the simplest of services, like oil changes and tire changes. No reason to coddle them.

thats half the reason I decided to go pick it up tomorrow and rescedule the job, I want to very respectfully adress how concerned about this I am. Will it change anything? Who knows, I hope so!
Only thing You can do if they Screw it up is keep taking it back till it is Right !!
I know how You feel ..
You would think Ford would require a higher level of competence from Dealer Mechanics !!
Totally get it. A week or two ago my truck was in shop for some pretty good repairs. Dealer did an excellent job and truck looks better than new. It's stressful but my truck came back solid with no rattles
I had to get the dash, console, seats all pulled in a previous F-150 to change a $30 heater blend door. Pretty awesome. Anyway, I was super nervous it would never be the same but it all turned out fine and no new rattles. I was pleasantly surprised.

Good to know, that makes me feel a little better! I picked it up this morning and ill bring it back when the parts come in. I very nicely explained to service how concerned I was about damage, rattles etc and he completely understood and again said they have only a senior tech on this so as to avoid any opsies. I asked if they could add in the ticket my concernes and I think he did. Just have to see how it all turns out now!
My wife's Escape had a leaking heater core. 12,000 miles or so. Took it to the dealer and the service manager gets a tech to come over and approve my diagnosis. Then he asks if we can wait until Monday because he has one guy who does 95% of their interior work and he wanted him to pull the dash. I agreed it sounded like a good idea. Monday evening I get a call to come pick up the car. The tech did a perfect job - not one mark. Now, at 125,000+ miles, it is still 100% squeak / rattle free.
I think the assembly methods and fasteners used in today's vehicles are more likely to have a good outcome with disassembly / reassembly than the cars of yesteryear.
So I FINALLY heard back from the dealer and they got all the parts in. Ill be dropping it off on the 15th and they have a 250 loaner for me so at least I can still do truck stuff. Ill report back once the job is done. Crossing my fingers and toes!
Well today was a waste of time. Dropped the truck off so they could change the evaporator. Took a lot of detailed interior pics just incase. Got set up with a 2019 F250 XLT for a loaner. Also had them look at a new metallic rattle from the front passenger seat.
heard from the service guy this evening they fixed the seat, found something in the lumbar support loose. And that the evaporator "kit" is on national backorder. The entire service dept is upset over this as ford claimed they sent everything and last minute said oops sorry. More annoyed at the 3 hours time I took away from my job. Told them we'll plan on spring or when ever every single piece is in and accounted for! Picking it up tomorrow morning.
My 2015 had the AC unit crap out and they had to pull the dash. I was really worried, but they did a great job, no scratches, rattles or anything when they were done.

I had one of those F-150s and I did that job…twice. First for the blend door and again for the heater core.
Hi everyone, so my month old F250 King Ranch needs the dash pulled to fix the a/c. Has anyone ever had the dealer pull the dash and had problems after? Im **** about rattles etc anyways and am fearfull itll be a mess. Thanks!
If they care about what they do, it's not that complex of a job.
mostly plastic and locking tabs to be carefully pulled off first...
I do appreciate all the possitive comments about others good outcome, does make me feel better! When I picked it up yesterday morning the service dept kept apologizing non stop for the waste of time after they realized all the parts didnt show up. The instulation "kit" (whatever that includes for an evaporator swap) is on national backorder. Oh well, have till early summer seeing as its getting pretty cold in MA to wait for the parts to show up!
So I finally heard back from the dealer last week that all the parts were in for the AC job. Got the truck back yesterday and everything is perfect! cant even tell the dash was pulled! What a sigh of relief!!! No rattles or noises etc. Only thing I noticed this morning is the passenger side of the hood is sitting about 3/4" high by the cowl. I'm assuming the pulled the hood off for more access. Ill fix that myself as its a pain to get the time to go to the dealer, anyone know off hand how to adjust that section? I'm assuming its just a couple bolts to loosen and lower that side? Ill make a separate post on that issue.
