As I am sitting bored at work I figured I would ask a simple question. I tried searching but did not find a thread on this. What is a quality duraspark box to have on hand? Will any ORielly type box be ok or is there something better to have on hand. Mind you this will be spare for the glove box as I have read that it is good to have one on hand.
Thanks.
BTW 1980 F350 400 C6
The box on my truck, 81 F100, started leaking the potting down the inner fender and on to the garage floor.
I was also getting some strange issues you could only see and feel at night and thinking it was the box I replaced it with a NAPA top of the line.
So far it has been working good and have maybe 500 miles on it.
I also had to replace the starter relay because of a "clunk no crank" when trying to start the truck.
I also went with NAPA top of the line relay and it also been working good.

I would check Rockauto I picked up two NOS Motorcraft DSII blue strain relief modules from there like 6 years ago for $10 a piece.
They don't have those anymore. I just saw Standard Motor Products and a company called WVE (which I've never heard of). They run ~$20-$45. Not a terrible price... IF they work.

They still have them I just checked. They are pricier how ever than when I got mine they are $50.99.
Motorcraft DY893 also has the number E0TE-12127-RA and that it fits F150 1976 to 1986 and F250 1976 to 1987.
Holy smokes... don't know how l didn't see that... ?!?
I ordered one... 10 bucks for shipping. I don't even know if the OEM unit l bought works (yet) so this one will be my backup... or maybe I'll need another one. Either way, thanks @Rusty_S for the link. My apologies for disseminating bad scoop.

Its no biggie, I found that rockauto can be a pain locating parts. I been on there probably 30 times looking at exhaust components before I finally found that they have some aftermarket replacement types that are more performance geared. But I wont be using them as they have converters welded into them. I decided I will just run the flowmaster replacement Y pipe as the converter slips on then clamps in place.
Same with the flexplates, looked on there multiple times and never saw they have a 50oz imbalance HD flexplate in 164 tooth. Not sure if I want to go with that or try and get a performance aftermarket flexplate from some place like Hughes or some where else.
