Mystery engine ID
Hello all,
My son picked up a 302 off of craigslist today. We have no idea what it was originally in, and the prior owner doesnt either since he bought it as a project years ago.
The number on the side of the block is D8VE-6015-A3A Z and another number nearby there is 8E1.
Any ideas what it originally came out of or anything else about this?

D = 1970s
8 = 1978
V = Lincoln
E = Engine engineering group.
8E1
8 = 1978
E = May
1 = 1st.
133 HP, 243 TQ, all done at 4500 RPM. The sustained low point of Ford 302 performance.
However, it is apparently a good block to work with. Discussion here:
