If you look at the reviews for a few of those kickdown cables it seems you'll also have to buy a bracket (or fabricate one) to attach the kickdown cable to the carb; as well as, a new throttle cable bracket. FWIW, I bought a Jegs throttle cable bracket for my 71 Olds when I installed the Summit carburetor. Like the C6 in my 86 F250, the TH400 in my 71 Olds only uses manifold vacuum to control shifting. There is a kickdown, but it's under the accelerator pedal.
Here's the throttle cable bracket I got to go with my Summit carburetor. Summit sells one that's identical.
Wow, I find it much more better (LOL) to speak to someone who knows the parts they have. I just called Summit and spoke to someone before I ordered the 50,000BTU Mr Heater and items for my new garage. There was no way I would order that kind of expense without talking to a real person. But, I'm almost 67y/o.
Even back when we were building our race car, I taught my son to call and speak to the experts. Example, he spent 2 hours on a phone call to the west coast talking to a shock Engineer and learning about suspension set up. That was back in 2006.
anyone who calls themself an expert has quit attempting to learn.
I take the chance to ask on here for real life experience gather my thoughts and get a grip on what I need.
I live less than an hour from summit, I can talk to a person in person there.
Olds I know, thats why I said lever, not cable.
