Hi everyone, I am swapping my 240 6-inline for a 302 V8. I have a 69 F-100 and I am replacing my radiator core to support the bigger radiators. I found a radiator core at the junk yard but some of the cage nuts are stripped and one is missing. I have attached a photo. Does anyone know where I can find a cage nut for the radiator core?
@RichS2659 I can go to my local hardware store but the cage nuts that I have seen on line have a cage. Would those work or are the original ones welded on?
Are cage nuts the ones with the clip built onto them? I have two truck here at the house and a third core support and the nuts in your pic are all press fit in. I have tack welded one in on my 4x4 core support before and one inside a door jamb for a door hinge. Do you have your original core support? If so, you can pop some out and tack them in.
