So a few days ago was drive and truck check engine light came on and it just shut off. Had it towed ,checked code. It had a code for the idm. Replaced that nothing I change the cps ,idm, ipr, oil pressure sensor. And still have no start. Not sure where else to go from here. Anyone ever have this issue and what was your fix. TIA.
We would absolutely love to help you figure out what is going on with your 2001 F-350 (assuming this is correct based on your public profile information).
There are quite a few codes for the IDM, do you happen to recall what it was?
What scan tool and/or program are you using to read the codes?
Did you try to clear the codes to see what came back?
Are you getting a WTS (wait to start light)?
You replaced the IDM? Who was the source of the IDM? Parts store, Alliant, RiffRaff, etc?
Who was the source for the other parts like the CPS, IPR, oil pressure sensor, etc?
What is the resting battery voltage?
Do you hear the fuel pump or have you checked fuel pressure?
Is the start turning the engine or is there just a click?
FYI, these trucks do NOT play well with parts store sensors like the CPS, IPR, etc...
Are you familiar with the 7.3L PSD Tech Folder at the top of this sub-forum? It is literally a treasure trove of information...
Below are a couple of "No Start Flow Charts" I pulled from the 7.3L PSD Tech Folder. Give them a run through and come back to us with what you see, hear and are reading.
Sous pretty much nailed it. Only thing I can think to add would be an inspection of the wiring at the 42 pin connector for any signs of chafing or damaged, and check all the fuses with a multimeter for continuity or resistance
