My wipers don't sit horizontal. Is this normal? When I turn them on, they go down to horizontal, go up and across, back to horizontal, etc. But when I turn them off they part like the picture. If I put them on horizontal in the park position they go down below the gasket, them up. I am using a new 12 volt motor and the existing bars.
Edited: What I said before didn't actually make sense.
It sounds like the "Park" is out of adjustment. I'm not sure how to adjust it on this motor.
Second edit: Trying to remember, I think the arm is just pressed into some splines by the retaining nut? It just needs to be removed and clocked into the right position and reinstalled.
Here is mine "parked": The arm is pointing straight toward the left (port side) and is parallel to the long connecting rods.

Marten, did you get this resolved ? Did you have to clock the arm on the motor differently? Mine does the same thing,
It is not resolved. What happens is when I turn to the off position they go until it reaches this point. When I turn them back on, they go down to what should be the park position then go up again. I have no idea what to do. For now I ended up turning them off when they reached the correct park position and left them there. I won't be driving the truck n the rain anyway. Not sure what to do. Would really like to fix this problem as well as my other problems.

52 F3 doing the same - I have seen several pics that show "park" position below the chrome / rubber weatherstrip and resting on the metal itself - not sure if that was correct, but just noticing it now as I have the issue. My wiper motor is really weak as well (barely moves the wipers) so I will need to remove it anyway - maybe I'll find something out when I do.
I just took a look under the dash at my motor & linkage. The arm on the motor is pointing straight down in the parked position. If you look at effie's pictures, the arm is pointing to the driver's side. So that is probably the reason for the problem.
It looks like I can get to the nut that holds the arm on without removing the whole assembly. I hope.
It sometimes looks easier than it really is.
I probably won't be able to get to it until next weekend though. I'll let you know how it goes. Arm pointing straight down instead of to the driver's side.

Good catch! I'll look at mine this weekend too; maybe that's my issue as well.
Thanks,
Wes
I was able to remove and change the position of the wiper motor arm without having to pull the whole assy out. So happy about that. I moved the arm so it points to the driver's side instead of straight down. And now the wipers work like they're supposed to.
