Hey folks, I've spent a lot of time reading this forum and searching the internet. After replacing both the brake switch and the shift interlock solenoid, I have the same problem with being stuck in Park and no brake lights. (I can put a bungie on the interlock override but I still have no brake lights and this is bad)
This is a 2016 E450 and from research and a schematic from the dealership I know there are two fuses to check. ONE of them keep getting blown quickly.
Fuse 30 under the hood is a 10A and it blows when I depress the brake pedal. If it does blow immediately then I can hear the shift interlock clicking, but it blows rather quickly.
I can find any short on any wires. I removed the tail light assemblies when I replaced the parts but the fuse blew anyway. I can't see any problem with the trailer plug etc.
I'm not even sure that these two parts were bad now.
Anything else to check before I have to take this to the dealership?
This turned out to be a short in a harness that Jayco routed from the dash to the flooring/underbelly of the RV. After hours of diagnostics this was resolved by pulling and pushing on a cable loom heading back into the rig.
