Sold my 2001 F-150

I traded in my 2001 F-150 4X4 with the 4.2 yesterday for a 2004 Jeep Liberty Renegade. The pickup didn't have enough interior space any more, and I had no need for the bed or anything like that. The truck had 52,000 miles on it, but still ran very well. I do have to say, it was my first Ford, and I was very impressed with its' power, build quality, and durability. If I ever need a pickup truck again, I'll definately go with Ford. I'll miss it, but I needed the change for practical purposes.

Hey, good luck with the Jeep Liberty! I've they are pretty nice on the inside. (I've never actually been in one) I'm not to much for the looks, but that's just me.

Yeah and a whopping 150 horsepower!!!!! Good luck driving up hills on that one. That has to be one of the most underpowered trucks in all time history. But, like they say, buy what you like. Be careful as they are highly prone to flipping.

The new Ford Explorers are very very very nice. I went to GA 2 weeks ago and rented a brand new one. It was fast, smooth and comfortable and handled beautifully. I would have gotten that.

The Renegade trim has the 3.7L V6 producing 210 HP and 235 Torque. I'm not much of an Explorer person, no off-road ability, bad transmissions, don't care for the looks. I've put 350 miles on the Liberty in less than a week so far, and it is wonderful. The 2004 Liberty's ride height is lowered an inch for better stability, and I have cornered it at 55mph and there is no body lean or anything. Very happy with it so far.

Thats cool...but if your going off-road, you need the Rubicon. If your gonna do it, do it right. Just my vvery humble opinion.

Yeah, the Rubicon's are really nice, but I needed more space and comfort, so that was out of the question. I already have a lifted Grand Cherokee, so I use that when the going gets tough.

You must be a real Jeep guy. Im not a big fan, especially on wranglers. They make me mad. LoL. Thats cool your happy, but if you consider the majority of the repliers, we are all about the need for speed, not the climbing factor.

Yes, I guess you could call me a "Jeep enthusiast." LOL. They certainly don't have the best speed, etc..., but they make for some pretty cool off-roading. You're right that most here on the forum are in it more for speed and performance than ground clearance and suspension flex. Sounds like you have a pretty cool truck, though, from your signature. Have fun.

Tell those jeep guys to fix their commercials. Because they advertise that jeep at a wopping 150hp. They should advertise the larger displacement motor instead of the smaller motor.

Nothing wrong with Dodge. My brother has 3 of them and races them all. He's got a Dogde Durrango (soccer mom truck) and pulls 13.4 in it. It's freaking wild looking. He's got non DOT slicks on the back and has it painted like a dragon whereas he purges his nitrous through the front nostral holes in the hood, makes it look like the dragon is breathing fire.

He also has a 67 Cuda that he's restoring and an old box Van that he's got all modified and runs 16's without nitrous...a cargo van. It's funny, everyone laughs at it at the track, but are suprised when they get beat by it.

Check to see if they have any Liberty forums and see if anyone is modifying them for racing. I'm curious. Let us know what you find.

We've got a guy at the track with a stroker cherokee 4 door and he runs 11's with it. It's awsome. Still has the wood panels on the side too!!!
