I got the idle validation code tonight and a dead throttle. My '01 is late and has the integrated assembly (no separate IVS). I see 'genuine OEM Motorcraft' for $124 to $299, and cheap Chinese for $94-$250. I need part number:1C3Z-9F836-BA
Steve, a fellow FTE'r just went through this about a year ago. I forget who it was though...
They bought from a couple of different places and ended up going through Clay at RiffRaff in order to get an assembly that worked well.
Clay is able to source parts not on his site. Just tell him what you need and your VIN so he can double check the part number. I have done this on at least one occasion.
I hope you are doing well sir and the barn is coming along nicely.
I am pretty sure that part number has been superseded to EC3Z9F836A, but like Sous mentioned I would contact @Riffraff Performance and have them run your VIN. Clay at Riffraff is part of this forum and has been for as long as I can remember. He has helped many of us over the years and I am sure he can confirm the part number for you and he also sells and stocks actual Ford parts at really low prices.
I have a good used one from an 03 I would let go cheap, of it would work for you.
One thing to note, of you do order an updated version, on the 03 7.3 at least, yu have to order the pedal assembly, and an updated mount for it. It is a required two part purchase.
I am not %100 if the late 01-03 are identical or not though.

I tried searching on several Ford dealer sites - a disaster.
Where have the rest of you bought this part?
Thanks - Steve
I BOUGHT ONE FROM AUTOZONE about 2 month's ago. They had it in stock at a nearby store and a store employee went and retrieved it for me.
Took about 30 minutes or less and cost around $100.
Works great and identical to original. I actually prefer to original as I swear it's a easier feeling pedal pressure that I prefer. But that is seat of pants feeling.
Update - RiffRaff's shipping was lighting quick (shipped same day I placed the order and arrived soon thereafter). I bolted in the new pedal and bracket and all is well. I just started it in my garage to test the new pedal, so I have no idea if the pedal feel/pressure is different than the factory one. If it's nasty, I''ll update this thread when I drive it.
