Help! Power Steering gone/Overheating Engine
2008 F350 5.4L gas with AC
While driving today I started to hear a noise from the engine. When I pulled over to look, it sounded like a worn tension arm pully. Went to the auto store before it closed and got the part. On the way home I lost power steering followed by the temperature warning on the dash. Half way into my driveway it went into limp mode. When I stopped I popped the hood and heard gurggling from the radiator and the plastic overflow was full to the top.
I may have found my problem. After eating and having a nap I inspected a little closer...
Bad Accessory Drive Belt Tensioner(6B209 Ford#) and Bad Acessory Drive Belt Idler Pulley(8678 Ford#) = Shredded Serpentine Belt(8620 Ford#)
Probably why the Power Steering went out and the Overheating.
Soon as that tensioner starts making noise its about to tank....and this is what to expect.....Hope this helps someone.
the lower wheel was shredding the metal also and the upper wheel berrings are shot
...and now I get to ride my Motorycle tomm to get more new parts
