I was installing my Bedrug last night and when I removed the tie down brackets. I scored the edges where they meet the box as not to lift it, which worked well enough. After the bracket was out however, I was rather surprised to see how easily the bedliner coating came right off the bracket. Like basically in one piece and very easily and very cleanly. As I said, I'm using a Bed Rug, but if I wasn't I feel like the bed liner would come off in regular use, really easy. Anyone else experience this?
Yes, it's peeling off the eyelet portion from using them when it's hot out. I wouldn't be surprised if mine did what yours did if I took them off. Overall the coating remains intact, I can't say I'm careful with the bed interior either. It's a 2017 for reference.
fords not all that bad unless i got lucky on my 2017? but i own a roofing company so im always got heavy bundles of shingles and crap going in and out all the time and after 5 years of that i dont have any damage!
As the video demonstrates: if you take a hammer and chisel to the edges of the Ford liner, then you can pull it up and out. I have personally solved this issue by refusing to take a hammer and chisel to the edges of my Ford liner -- by resisting the urge to forcibly peel up my liner, I've avoided my liner peeling up. Funny how that works. If I were a contractor, I'd opt for Line-X. Otherwise, this is much ado about nothing and starts reminding me of the GM commercials punching holes in the flimsy Ford aluminum bed.

But what else will I do with my hammer, chisel if I can't prove the Ford installed bed liner isn't as thick as an aftermarket spray in.

Well, mine came off easily with my fingernail, so...there is that.

Thanks.
I always spec without bedliner but its a forced option on the sport/black package and i think that is what i will get for my next truck.
I'm guessing it is because you broke the seal it had going. Although I am not surprised it came off a part that you Took off. I don't think it is even sprayed on my eyelets
