1. Brake squeel is caused by brake vibrations set up durring stops. This can be caused by the material used on the dics pads or pads not properly seated into the calp assy.
2. Sometimes we also have a glazed rotor which causes brake squeel.
Possible cures: Take some fine emery cloth and rough up the surface of the rotor faces. If this cures the problem then run them a while to see if noise returns, if it does pull the pads and apply the spray or paint on anti squeel paint to rear of pads. This is a good idea any way when you rough up the rotors. In most cases this works. These are the most comon problems. Let me know how this works!
I have heard that some brands of pads make more noise than others. I used to work an an import shop and we had huge problems with aftermarket pads making more noise than the OEM stuff. I am not sure about Fords, but I know imports are effected by the noise issue. I isn't a performance problem, the will work just fine.
