Hello I have a 1973 Ford F250 with what I believe to be a 390. Im looking for throttle return spring P# D3TZ 9737-D. People say this part number is obsolete. I have already tried contacting most restoration catalogs with no luck. I wonder if there might be a part number change for this return spring for another model.
If you can discern the key characteristics of this spring (length, strength and end shape), it might be possible to find a close or exact equivalent. Time for those who have one to contribute those specs. Better yet, if you have already found an equivalent spring that cane be acquired/bought, let's hear from you.
Totally get it if your trying to stay original, but i replaced my corroded tired FE spring with a edlebrock dual spring and it feels much better than my original setup....oh and greensales has the U but not the D, not sure what the difference is.
Were can one get the same type of throttle return spring you have on your FE 390 mikeo0o0o0. Is that the a period correct throttle return spring? I have a 390 on a 1973 ford f250 and its got the same bracket- I just need the same spring you have. Ford calls for part number D3TZ 9737-D.
Napa carries these in different sizes. Get the parts guy to dig out their parts catalog that shows a picture of their throttle springs. I bet you can get close.
