Hopefully, as they explained it, one of the check valves got stuck open or a seal let loose. If it’s a total failure I’m stuck up a creek with no paddle.

These HEUI pumps on 7.3's and 6.0's don't tend to fail catastrophically and send metal shavings into the injectors do they? Caterpillar 3126/C7/C9 engines have known issues with that...very expensive to fix. (Don't ever buy anything with one of those motors).

I don't think it's common but I seem to recall reading that it happened to one of our guys here. My memory is lacking so I can't remember who it was.

Well I got an answer on what happened to my pump.
The swash plate rotated inside the housing.
CNC repaired the issue and the pump is coming back.
Sadly wasn't as easy of a fix as I anticipated.

At least within the bad news of a difficult fix by CNC, there is good news that your truck will be running again soon.
