460 Headers and fuel efficiency
I'm somewhat new to the OBS scene and I was hoping to increase my fuel efficiency for this big truck. My main question, which I can't seem to find a direct answer for is; do new header increase the gas mileage of a stock 460, if so by how much? I've seen that headers can increase horsepower, but I am more after the fuel economy, and yes I do know that 460's are about as far as you can get from fuel efficient. I was thinking of putting some Hedman headers on my 93' F250, but if the mpg increase isn't worth it then I just wanna know. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Headers give you bragging rights. Any negligible increase in gas mileage will take thousands of miles to pencil-out their cost. Any increase in performance necessarily negates any reduced fuel consumption. I've had headers on various Ford trucks through the years...and I don't regret having had them...sure helped me feel good at the time...and, indeed, I've certainly spent more money on other less beneficial endeavors. I say...put 'em on! Spend that Kung flu money!

I got a .5MPG increase with my Banks headers. The truck sounded and ran smoother in my opinion.
