some progress on my '56 Panel, sorta
The spring & shackle bushings were replaced as were the shocks when the rear was put under the pick-up. The springs were disassembled, painted, lubed, and reassembled. Looks like the springs need rebuilding again.
I think I can save the tank, with a new sending unit. I want to use the original gauge in the dash. Edit- Now I'm informed that this is not the Panel truck tank. I'm hoping that maybe the tank is still under the Panel. I'll find out tomorrow. I thought this was the tank I took out 20 years ago, maybe not.
The running boards are solid except for the holes in the center. I can fix them. They're not even all flattened and banged up on the outside edges like most seem to be! And I have the Panel only r.b. supports. Does anybody supply patch material with the correct ribs? If not I might still have the boards off my wrecked pick-up I can cut patches from if the ribs & valleys are the same size.
The replacement rockers that I had with it when I sold it didn't store well. I think I can de-rust them and they'll be ok though. My helper thinks we can save them.
