4x4 Inop -- 95 Bronco.

Found out the hard way last winter that 4x4 does not work on our 95 Bronco, EB, 351, Auto, AutoHubs, Elect Shift-on-Fly, bone stock.

With Winter rolling back around, need to get it fixed...

Have asked around town and seem to get responses of BAD HUBS.?? Does this make sense? They all say its a VERY Common problem!!?? The 4x4 Light on Dashboard illuminates when I press the button, but the front tires are NOT spinning.

Anybody have any knowledge or experience w/ this?? Would be MUCH appreciated. About how much to have fixed?

Suggestions/advice... Please??

Thanks!

Yup, Fords auto hubs are complete crap. Mine went out last year and I found out the hard way. Its a pretty inexpensive piece of mind to switch to manual hubs. You should look at either Milemarker or Warn for a good set of hubs. Also, depending on how many screws (on the visible part of the hub) you have. If you have three, you need to purchase a spindle nut conversion kit (I think its like 35). If you do a search on this board for 'auto hubs' in the bronco forum, you should find WAAAY more information that you need.
