alright disc brakes guys, my local salvage yard is rounding me up a full disc brake setup from a 73-79 for my 68 ranger 5 lug, can you all provide me with an inventory list of what i need? thank you!!!
This has been covered a few different times but here is a quick list. If you need more info, do a search.
IBeams, knuckles, brakes, and rotors
Trailing arms, steering links
Also need to get the brake lines and brake line mounts for the frame.
Differential valve from the frame, and the two brake lines that go from the valve to the brake line mounts on each side of the truck.
Then, core exchange the calipers for some new ones with pads and new rotors, seals, and bearings.
IIRC you have to change the 68 spindles to the 73-79 spindles and mess with the king pins. It is easier just to swap the 73-79 beams over without messing with the hassle of changing the spindles and king pins.
I don't know why everybody says you need the brake line brackets. The original ones on my 71 worked just fine. I don't see a reason why you would need to change them.
