So today I was stripping down the engine and transmission for shipping as they are sold. But I can’t seem to figure out how the clutch/flywheel comes off the back of the crank shaft. Doesn’t look like it’s bolted anywhere but I can’t seem to pry it off either. Is there something I am missing or is it just seized on? Ford flat head
1st you need to remove the 6 bolts that mount the Clutch Pressure Plate to the flywheel. Then there are 4 bolts that hold the flywheel to the back of the crank shaft.
You need to take the pressure plate off first. The flywheel bolts are behind the clutch disk.
Edit: How'd Rich beat me by 3 minutes? There was nothing there when I hit send.
Well, you see, he is in the Pacific Time Zone, so it was only like 6:30 when he was writing his reply and you are in the Eastern Time Zone and it later here then it is out there.... See? So he's gonna beat you every time unless you are type and hit reply 3 hours before he does! Simple!
Take out the 6 PP bolts a little at a time. To remove the flywheel you need to lock the crankshaft, usually by wedging a lever between the starter ring gear and a bolt in one of the bellhousing holes in the block. The flywheel also has two dowels so it needs to be pried backwards after the bolts are loose.

I see.
I sometimes watch the ships coming and going at Duluth Harbor on YouTube. They're an hour behind us and military time. That took some getting used to.
