Noticed that the flange on frame that motor mount mounts to, has a crack in it. Is this okay to have welded, or should I look for a replacement, or leave as is. Thanks.
Yep, weld it up like normal and that's perfectly fine. Not uncommon to see cracks there for some reason. Yours looks kind of beat up too. I wonder if that's just it's natural look (the factory was not always a perfectionist back then) or if maybe the mounting nut came loose and the engine was beating it up for awhile.
Easy fix still though, if you know basic welding.
If not, but you want to try it yourself anyway, I would grind it a bit, clean it a lot, and weld it up good and solid, Others will know details like what rod or wire to use, and all that.
Maybe even do your best to grind it flatter than it is when you're done, so that the new mount will sit flatter with a more supported base than it looks like there was originally.
Or am I not seeing it correctly? If you pug a new mount up against it you should be able to tell how much area needs to be flat.

Good luck.

Yeah. The motor mount was barely hand tight, so I think the engine was moving the mount back and forth and rubbed the perch. I don't have any welding supplies. I'll take if off tomorrow and take it by a welding shop down the street and see what they can do.
