2001 vs 2006

I have a 2001 v10 and it is knocking and i found a 2006 v10 and was wondering if there is a problem dropping in and what if anything that will need to be done?

Pretty sure it won't work. The 2001 is a 2v the 2006 is a 3v and they are not interchangeable depending on what the 2006 came out of. Ford used 2v in the rvs and big vans for quite a while after the 3v switch in the f250+

Depends on where the 2006 came from - if it's an E-series, it's a 2-valve, but you'll have to swap the oil pan, oil pump pickup, and possibly the oil filter/cooler adapter.

Everything else should bolt up - again, ONLY if it's a 2-valve.

A 3-valve will not work without major rewiring, dash replacement, PCM, even the ABS system.
