Rough running 2.0 with codes
Long story short the truck went from a rough idle to almost not making it home within 30 seconds. 15 MPH with hazards flashing, 2000 RPM in 1st gear EGT's at 800°
I ran the works on the truck with Auto Enginuity and SEVERAL codes populated.
The buzz test audibly failed #3 injector. Here are the buzz test codes:
P-1267 CYLINDER #3 INJECTOR CIRCUIT LOW
P-1271 CYLINDER #1 HIGH TO LOW SIDE OPEN
P-1272 CYLINDER #2 HIGH TO LOW SIDE OPEN
P-1273 CYLINDER #3 HIGH TO LOW SIDE OPEN
P-1275 CYLINDER #5 HIGH TO LOW SIDE OPEN
P-1276 CYLINDER #6 HIGH TO LOW SIDE OPEN
P-1278 CYLINDER #8 HIGH TO LOW SIDE OPEN
P-1293 INJECTOR HIGH SIDE OPEN BANK #1
The cylinder contribution test failed #3 injector with the following code:
P-0269 CYLINDER #3 INJECTOR CIRCUIT CONTRIBUTION/BALANCE FAULT
I made a video recording of the buzz test but cannot figure out how to post the video.
What I've done so far is ohmed the wire harness from the passenger side valve cover connection to the IDM connection. All wires checked out good. I also removed the passenger side valve cover and inspected the UVC harness and connection. The connector was still tight and hadn't wiggled loose. I pulled the UVC harness and gasket and ohmed them together on my work bench, no faults found. Reinstalled with a tight connection and have the same results: rough running, rough idle.
I also swapped out my IDM with a known good IDM from a buddy with the same year model truck as mine. (This is his backup IDM which ran well in his truck without fail for over a year.) The results were even worse which surprised me. Barely able to idle past 200rpm.
Im beginning to think #3 injector has failed. Would one failed injector throw so many codes?
Adam.
