Just wondering if anybody has bought one of the complete cab backs, for the 53-56 trucks, that dennis carpenter is selling? And if so how did it fit? Thanks Larry
Don't know of anyone that has replaced the whole back panel....but knowing how the cab corners, rockers and floor panels that I did replace needed some serious "massaging" to fit right I'm sure the same goes for the back cab panel.
I am sure it will need some rework, Just wondering if anyone has tried to put one on. Mid fifty says they have sold 10 and have not heard of any problems but who knows!!
There is just as much poor workmanship that came out of the Ford factory as there is out of the aftermarket vendors. Bottom line...nothing is a perfect fit, everything needs to be fitted. If you need that panel and are willing to pay the price then go for it.
All the cabs I have come across need cab corners and floor work and the back panels are beat up. I have already done a lot of work on mine but someone really warped the back panel and then tried to shrink it and made a mess of it. I can not find a " better" cab for the price of this panel.
I just picked up 3 nice cabs. I don’t know how much the back panel is but these cabs are pretty nice for the money. Not perfect but a lot better than most
The panel is 495, Got any good cabs in that price range?
not hardly. But you’ll spend $500 plus shipping or gas and time to pick it up plus labor to install. Yet people balk at spending $1500 -$2500 for a nice cab. One of the cabs ( the one far left) is the best I’ve ever found
