I have a 52 F1 and would like to get rid of the metal greasable shackles and use rubber bushings instead. I'd still like to keep the stock shackle frame mounts if possible along with the stock springs. Does anyone know of a kit to do this?
Maybe has a strong aversion to grease guns, but which I think is part of the retro charm. I have about 350 zerks on all my equipment combined, that's why I have an electric grease gun that I bulk load.

the only reason they went to the rubber suspension is because of lack of maintenance. If you grease the fittings regularly they will last forever ( which you and I already know)
Less maintenance. I honestly hate greasing cars. I don't like repacking wheel bearings either. Also, it seems like it would be smoother to have rubber bushings.
I originally had a few seriously jammed up zerks and the components they attach to....carefully applied heat with a propane torch, and THEN using the Innovative Products of America Rejuvenator filled with gasoline solved the jammed with old grease problem...(Inovative DOES NOT MENTION USING GASOLINE they PROBABLY DONT WANT YOU TO DO THAT EITHER) but I was having no success until I did that.on those extra stubborn remaining few that the tool didnt work on with just the "Light Oil" suggested in the instructions...now I can grease everything...

Reason: add title
Also, a system used on lots of large machinery, lets you grease many points from just one zerk. I adapted this to my bulldozer and it saves a lot of legwork.
Many multi-point lube systems are on the market - http://www.lincolnindustrial.com/Cat...s/Quicklub.pdf
And for those that think grease is "ewww", there is always Jiffy Lube or Grease Monkey.
These three "lube the existing zerks EASIER" items work for me:

Gasoline used in a zerk rejuvenation tool? That's interesting. I might very carefully give it a try. I have tried lots of different things. It seems though that Liquid Wrench penetrating oil worked the best for me so far, even better than Kroil. But I still have two that are stuck one on a front spring and one on the rear and looking like they will need to be replaced.
I haven't looked at my bushings since I replaced them so this is a guess. How about Delrin/Acetal bushings? I machine my own Delrin bushings on my lathe for my rock crawler. Got tired of replacing the rubber and even poly bushings that didn't last. I made some for my Ram 2500 control arms and my buddies Jeeps. They don't need lube. The trade off when replacing stock rubber bushings is noise transfer. Probably not much of a difference going from a brass or steel bushing. Just a thought
