Recently purchased a ‘65 F100, 3-spd manual on the column , 352. Many things are going to require fixing, so I just picked something: the horn. However, getting replacement parts (new horn brush, relay, spring, etc)hasn’t been successful in getting the horn to function properly. Current status produces only a clicking/knocking sound from the relay when I press on the horn ring. The clicking happens , too, when I put the old relay back in. One day after playing at being a mechanic, The horn blew loud and clear, but wouldn’t stop. Disconnected the battery to quiet things down and removed the horn ring from the wheel to try and evaluate things. When I put it all back together, nothing worked. Suggestions?

There is a rubber cushion on the inside of the horn ring, it flattens out, horn won't blow. I assume you replaced the horn brush located on the outside of the steering wheel.
