No 300 came with a nylon timing gear. A lot of the Ford V8's had nylon covered teeth on the timing chain sprockets.
Some of the 300's came with a fiber/composite cam gear. All of the EFI 300's came with the fiber cam gears because of the knock sensors. If replacing timing gears I always go with a metal ones.
