Quick hood emblem question

1964 f100 292 v8

ok, I need a front hood emblem on my truck. It has a lightning bolt on it now. Is this correct for a v8? Did the v8 hood emblem start in 65? I realize both will fit, I just want it to be correct.

Yes, the lightning bolt and gear is correct.

Was the lightning bolt only used for the 6s after the y-block was phased out?

I believe that in 1965, new engine, new suspension, they gave the V8's a new hood emblem, the V8, and the six cylinder trucks retained the gear-n-bolt.
