Looking to hire help on my '54 F100 in Maine
Do any of you guys have a recommendation for someone in Maine or New Hampshire for hire to help with some mechanical work and wiring on my '54 F100? My truck restoration is pretty far along. I'm doing brakes right now and will fire up the engine soon...I hope. Finding time to work on it is impossible. I have two young girls, and between them, work demands, and everything constantly breaking around the house, my truck sits for very long periods with no progress. I'd love to hire someone to help me get it to completion, but it's hard to find someone in person with car shows all shut down. I don't want to give up on the truck, but I'm realizing that this stage in my life is not about me, and I want something I can drive in the next couple years, not decades. Thanks

Hi JCP,
Greetings from Maine.
Mechanical work I may be able to help locate a shop near Portland, I know of exactly one place that is fair, honest and capable. They do modern vehicle repair work as their priority, but some of their technicians have an appreciation for and knowledge of the older cars.
For wiring...............ohh man that is a tough one. I used to know someone who specialized in auto wiring but booze got the best of him. Nobody local to me has taken his place. There is a shop in Portland that does electrical work, but I cannot recommend them. If you can find a place near you that does remote starters and has an employee over the age of 40 - you may get them to consider wiring your truck. Putting in a remote starter in a modern vehicle requires special skills and manual dexterity and your truck is a piece of cake in comparison. If they can tell the difference between a starter solenoid and a horn relay - they may tackle your '54.
Feel free to shoot me a PM to get the name of the shop that does repairs.
Tom
