My radiator for my inline six started leaking, so I was going to try to repair it but no good it has sat too long. So I ordered one from summit and had trouble finding the one with the top and bottom matching up with the radiator hoses top has to be on the driver side and bottom on the passenger side, when it came in the bottom and top does match but the bracket in on the wrong side on the old one the bracket in in the front, on the new one the bracket is on the back is the another bracket that I can order that will mount to the radiator support in the front and then allow me to mount the new radiator on.
my f100 is a 1966

Reason: Adding the year model
I just got a Champion radiator for a '68-'79 F250 L6 for my truck. It required removing the spacer plate on the drivers side of the rad support. It bolted right in. On my truck, both hose connections are on the passenger side. I went with the larger rad as I am installing AC in the truck.
An option is a recore of your original. A rad shop can put a new core between your tanks and even add a row of tubes. More money than Summit though.

Was there a higher capacity (3-row vs.2-row) option available from new for 66 model year? I would like to find and buy one, if there is.Perhaps the stock one is a 3-row? Perhaps ND will see this and respond, sorry for threadjack.
I had found a high capacity 3 row, and I think, a factory shroud( cannot recall) for the 59 I used to own, that truck ran cool all the time.
Just as an input, I think Champion is the way to go if a replacement is what your looking for. Some good info on this site in regards to them, I was sold by one post when they went out of their way to support the customer with replacements, I pulled my old one out and went with them when I decided to go with AC, Just my 2 cents for what it’s worth.......

Around here radiator shops are harder to find than radiators.

Thanks to the tree huggers (EPA) most radiator shops and chrome plating shops were regulated out of business. I would follow the suggestion of others that you have your original re-cored. Aluminum won't transfer heat like brass will.

I think the transfer of heat is between aluminum and brass in this configuration is pretty even. It all comes down to how fast it can shed the heat.
Well I have a good update, I went to Lowe's and got me the hardware that i needed and fabricated some tubing to make spacers and fit my radiator in and now its running cool, thanks guys for you input and suggestions, this is great forum to be part of.
