Gentlemen, I'm looking for an 8' bed for my '79 2wd. Don't care if it's a Styleside or a Stepside. Needs to be pretty clean though. Anyone know where there is one for sale, near New England?
Sorry Guys, I got sidetracked. Looks like I'm on temporary hold. It's starting to look like I'm going to get rid of it so I checked it out and it needs a distributor so I ordered one from rock auto. After I do that I'll make sure it runs and drives nice then decide if I'm going to sell it as is or pretty it up a bit then sell it.
$2600 that's crazy for that kind of money you could probbly buy a rust free or close to 2wd for a little more deppending on location. and steal the bed off it and re sell it and make most of your money back.

Ya, I agree. But on a brighter note, or dimmer depending on the angle, my addiction to old fords wont let me sell it so it's now on the short list for restoration.
I dropped the distributor in it and it purrs like a kitten. I just have had a big block addiction since the '60's. And #1 son that was driving it for the last few years forgot to mention he bought a parts truck for it and has 90% of the parts it needs. He does not however have a bed so that will be something I need to look at.
#2 son is trying to push me into a 2wd duelly truck build, I've never been a 2wd guy, but since I don't need it for a daily driver I may entertain that idea. If I do, the bed will be irrelevant. For years I have toyed with a custom stepside bed for a duelly, this may be it.
Right now I'm working on my custom 4wd air ride '66. I was going to do my '76 CJ-7 next, that may have to change. Addictions are so hard to break.
