I just reread your first post twice to make sure I could not think of anything else that you have not done.
Do you have a scan tool that you can try and see if the PCM is responsive? That is a long shot, but worth a shot if you have a scan tool.
I am looking through the Ford Service Manual PC/ED pinpoint tests for something that may be useful. If I find something, I will attach it in a follow up post.
I emailed dieseltechchatt but I think they're closed until Monday. I didn't see a phone number on their website. I also called autocomputerexchange.com and they have one in stock plus a 7.3 test engine they test all their PCM's on before sending out. It's $699 (includes the $200 core charge) and I can pay another $100 for lifetime warranty (which to me is peace of mind insurance). I would just like to find out what caused it to die.
Ordered the new PCM, should be here by Thursday. We're going to get a rental car and drive back to Tucson so I can work next week and then we'll drive back next weekend with the wife's car to fix my truck. Went ahead and ordered a Hydra from Clay to install with the new PCM.
Did you end up going through autocomputerexchange.com for the PCM? If so, please be sure to post up a detailed opinion on their service and product. DTC is a fairly new and trusted source to us 7.3'rs and it doesn't hurt to have other options.

I hope this is your issue sir.
I hope it is too. I’m planning to run through that diagnostic you attached earlier a bit later this evening. I’ll post up opinions and experience.
Started running through the PCM reset diagnostic you sent Sous. With PCM out and checking at the pins of the plug, ME1 checks out. Move to ME2, no vref voltage.
It says at the top to use a breakout box but all I can do is test at the harness pins with the PCM out. I’m hoping that’s ok. It directs me to ME5 where I’m checking for resistance of less that 5 ohms across puns 91 to pins 25, 76 (which is an empty hole), 77, & 103. I get 109.5k ohms, way above 5 ohms.
Now I’m wondering if I have an open somewhere that caused the PCM to die or if I really need the breakout box to actually test the PCM and not just the harness.
Hopefully the new PCM fixes the issue and whatever caused its death doesn’t happen again.
The connector while the PCM is plugged in. I'm thinking the procedure is asking you to measure values with the PCM plugged in if it's telling you to use a breakout box.

I’m gonna buy those probes and plug in the old PCM and test. I’m back In Tucson until the end of the week then will be driving back to Albuquerque on Friday to work on the truck.
I’d really like figure out what caused it to die before I plug in the new one.
Completed the 6 hour trip from Tucson to Albuquerque today. Diving back into the truck. The new PCM arrived today. I’ll post pics in a bit, but it appears the lifetime warranty wasn’t worth the money. If you open the case at all it voids any warranty.
Im going to plug in and back probe the old PCM to see if I can find why it died. Dieseltechchatt also emailed me back and told me to try unplugging and replugging the EBP sensor, said sometimes that clears it.
After I backprobe the old PCM I’ll plug in the new PCM untouched and see if it works before I go installing the hydra on it.
