Who has the best LED lighting kits for my 1978 F-100? (all the bulbs, etc.)

Thanks for any info,

Do you have round or square headlights?

Our old vehicles that use 7" round, and 5x7" rectangular headlights, are actually better supported by LED light manufacturers than modern vehicles. There's lots to chose from. I prefer the projector type, instead of the ones with a gazzllion little LED's. I think cop's prefer them too. I've got no incandescent bulbs on my Dent. One thing to keep in mind, is that you have to wire in Load Resistors for turn signal bulbs. It's easy. Another thing I suggest is to get a headlight wiring upgrade kit. LMC and JBG sell them. They're plug & play. Super easy.

Check out superbrightleds.com. Enter your vehicle information, and it'll give you plenty of LED options for every point on your truck.

I think this is what I've got on my Jeeps, which will fit your truck.

I don't think anyone makes a full kit for any year of our trucks.
I think I would do projector over LED head lights.
What I don't like about the fancy replacement head lights is they don't have good patterns down the road, most of it is out the sides.
What I found best on my 81 F100 is to run the head light relay kit made a big difference for night driving.

On the topic of resistors for turn signals- just get an LED flasher. Unless you're a purist (which you're not if you're going LED) the resistor is a hack. A proper LED flasher won't waste electricity or get hot like a resistor, plus it'll flash quicker than the painfully slow stock flasher

Most of the LED's have the resistance built in. Some are even bipolor, meaning you don't have to observe polarity. Turn signal and flasher relays may have to be replaced because of the change in current flow.

If you want to use all LEDs you will need to use each of the companies listed as none have a complete LED kit.
The only one that comes close is for the gauge cluster light bulbs as it is all the bulbs for the cluster.

If you don't do anything else do the head light relay kit in the last link.
It will make the old bulbs brighter and it takes the load off the light switch.
I did the relay on my 81 F100 and it was night & day.
Dave ----

ps: if you did not know this you have to use the same color LED bulb as the lens it is behind.
So the red tail light LEDs have to be red.
Front part / turn yellow, etc.

I've dated some ladies like that, poor judgement on my part.

One thing to think about on dash illumination LEDs, you will not be able to dim the dash any significant amount with LED replacements. I installed some in my dad's '78 when I restored the cluster, but we are just about ready to remove them and standards back in because they are so touchy.

And those dash bulbs are BRIGHT! I bought the ones with 5 diode's per bulb. I used a black paint pen to cover three diodes per bulb, and that worked out perfect for me. You can dim them by wiring in a LED dimmer switch. Autometer sells a good one.
