1994 F-250 180,000Km (110,000M). Not sure what engine and tranny, my neighbour says his bro in-law is selling this truck cause he just got a new one. I live in Vancouver B.C and I need to get to Edmonton A.B. I haven'nt talked to the owner yet cause I was just informed about this deal. I am leaving on the 10th of febuary, this sounds like a sweet deal but is it to good?
He wants 3500$ candian. Of course I know I need more info and I will get it soon(as in tomorrow), but just on this info is it to good to be true?
Please help me out on this. Thx

Once you get all the info go to http://www.edmunds.com & type in the info . Vehicle prices vary a lot . One question that comes to mind is what kind of shape the body is in ? Do they use road salt in Alberta ? If the engine , drivetrain & body are in reasonable condition it sounds like a pretty good deal .

Well, that mileage works out to about 20K per year, which in my book is moderately heavy use. You'd want to look at maintenance records, check for wear, etc. I'd suggest a good compression test as that is one of the better ways to gauge engine wear. If everything is really clean (body, etc.), even if the engine is almost blown, it still might be worth it as rebuilds or even new engines aren't that much. For $5,000 or $6,000 you could have a really strong truck. Anyway, my two bits. Good luck.
P.S. Canada Rocks!

There are a whole lot of variables at play that will effect the value of the truck (engine, trans, 4x4?, body style, trim etc.). But I'd have to say that if it is a straight truck (never been wrecked and rebuilt) you can't beat that price. If I didn't know the seller or have someone vouching for him I'd certainly get the truck checked out fully (oil pressure, compression, safety, etc) by someone I trusted. I bought mine a year ago with 84K KM and paid $8500CDN. I had it fully checked out beforehand and it passed everything with flying colours. I haven't spent anything on it other that oil changes and feel that was a good deal for what I got.
