My first long drive was from Houston TX to Port Charlotte FL. It was an awesome drive. The truck was perfect. If I remember, I got nearly 18 mpg for the overall trip. Not bad for a big 4X4 beast like this. Awesome trucks.

No, mine is the 6.7L, with the 3.55 gears. Have you pulled anything with the truck yet? With the 4.30 gears, it ought to be a pleasure.
I pulled my new 41' toy hauler home from the dealer. The drive was about 60 miles and it was the first pull with the new B&W Companion hitch. The combination of the 7.3, 10sp trans, and 430 gears was so smooth that the truck did not struggle. Next week is our first camping trip this year and the toy hauler will be loaded to include the golf cart that will be tied down in the garage. I'll post that result.
