2012 F250 King Ranch
I am having some trouble getting my running board lights to work. I have found the harness for the courtesy lights to plug in. However they are not working.
I have checked that the plug does indeed output 12v but then I plug in nothing lights up. I have tested the led lights straight to a battery and they work fine.
Has anyone had this issue?

Yes I am 100% they are wired correctly. They just will not work when hooked up the the courtesy light plug that is there for the running board lights. The wire colors going to that connector are grey and grey/purple.
The 2014, 2015 and 2016 Ford Workshop DVD's wiring shows the power side of the plug to be Violet and the neutral/ground side to be black with white stripe for the running board connector. Would think the 2011 and 2012 would be the same colors.
I was using the grey as ground and the grey/violet stripe as hot. Upon looking at a wiring diagram of the truck I'm not so sure the grey is a ground on that harness. Ill try going to to frame ground.
