Pugga's Super Duty

I'm making this thread to track the modifications made on my 2019 F250 XLT SCrew. If anyone has any questions about the parts, let me know and I'll answer as best I can. This is going to be very far from a SEMA build, it's just a daily driver and weekend warrior.
I started with a 2018 F250 but someone side swiped me on the highway and I ran it down the concrete barriers at highway speed. The truck didn't make it but I walked away without a scratch so, I bought another one. RIP
Current truck 11/2021 with new wheels:

Current truck 3/19/21:

The mod list so far:
Interior:
Lariat leather wrapped steering wheel
All windows tinted
Husky floor liners
12 volt solutions remote start kit
Katzkin leather seat covers

Exterior:
Lariat Sport black 20" wheel/tire swap
Fox 2.0's all around
2wd Front valance
AVS low profile vent visors
Weathertech Splash Guards
Stage 3 - 3 LED grille lights (Raptor looking kit)
Headlight Revolution V4 LED kit
NFab light bar painted white w/ 4 Rigid Industries Hyperspot cubes mounted
SUPER DUTY raised letters for front and rear (black with red outline)
Pixel Decal Flag decals for the doors (Black reflective)
Bed Rug Bed Mat
Diamondback Bed Cover - SE model and I mounted a bike rack to it
Ford dually 3 LED light below tailgate
Mishimoto catch can
SPE cold side pipe
BD Diesel high idle kit

2018, broken front axle, bent frame and some other 'minor' cosmetic damage.

2019 F250, bought with about 12k miles on the ticker. The day I picked it up:

Fortunately, I was able to salvage the Diamondback Bed Cover and some other parts from the 2018 and swap them over.

Swapped out for Lariat Sport wheels and tires. They're 2" taller than my stock XLT tires. Love the look and the Michelins are much better than the Continentals in the rain and snow.

NFab light bar and 4 Rigid Industries Hyperspot cubes. They're wired to cycle on and off with the high beams. It's like driving with the sun at your back!

Looks like you are well on your way! Looks really good - I really like those black wheels. I always worry about the concrete barrier - if someone were to share lanes with me...your truck took a BEATING but it looks like it handled it well & safely. I bet that was crazy dragging it down the driver’s side...geez. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Thanks, I've had it since October and took some of the items off the 2018 so I had a bit of a head start.

The accident was definitely a butt-puckering moment. A Jeep GC hit the rear of the truck, behind the rear tire and sent my front end into the wall. It's hard to see, but the wall has a slight slope to it so the front end hit and rode up the wall. I got the front end 4-5' into the air and it came crashing down and I rode the wall out until it stopped. I had the window open which made all that much worse from my perspective. But, I walked away so high marks for Ford in my book!

Love the NFab with the lights. Ive been wanting to put the old round PIAA fogs I had on my GMC on the Ford but without drilling anything... That looks perfect.
How much light do the Rigids produce?
I always loved the yellow fogs from PIAA... never had an LED light on the front of any vehicle so far. But change every bulb in the house or anywhere to the LEDS so Im open to change.

I like the NFab, but the factory coating is sort of crap. I threw this one on in a hurry but should have coated it with bed liner before mounting. I'll take it off in the Spring and coat it as it's already showing some rust at a couple edges. Installation was easy and it retains the factory tow hooks (some light mounting options remove them). I do think it's mounted sort of high for fog pattern lights though, you generally want those lower to the ground although I suppose it could be made to work.

I used to have a Tacoma with a similar set up, NFab light bar and 4 of the PIAA 520 driving pattern lights on it. I used to really like PIAA but I mixed it up once with their customer service and won't give them any more business (long story, partially my own fault but they way they handled it just pissed me off). The Rigid Lights are really impressive. They're the Hyperspot pattern so tight pattern with a long throw. Honestly, 4 of them is overkill but I absolutely love them. I can try to get a night shot one of these nights but it really is just live driving with the sun at your back, you're not going to out run the lights.

I had a 30" combo bar on the front of my truck a while back and would not recommend that route unless you just need a lot of light, immediately in front of the truck for slower speed off road driving. For high speed driving, you want the light to project out so your eyes focus off in the distance, not right in front of you.

No photos yet, but I got the Gibson side swept exhaust mounted up yesterday. Directions said to cut the exhaust and take the old one out in pieces, I decided to fight with it and get it out in one piece. Worked out, but took a few hours and a lot of choice words. If you're planning on taking the exhaust out that way, I put the back up on ramps and had to put a floor jack under the frame behind the track back connection to wiggle it out. You also have to separate the small resonator from the muffler. If you have access to a lift, it won't be an issue, it'll come out in one piece no problem. I didn't want to cut up the old exhaust so, for me, the fight was worth it. New exhaust is subtle, lower note and only slightly louder than stock. It keeps the big resonators in place so no drone in the cabin up to about 55, haven’t been on the highway yet but I don’t anticipate it to being an issue. The kit replaces the small resonator immediately in front of the stock muffler with a straight-through 3" pipe. It exits the muffler at 3.5" and runs that out to a 5" tip.

Finally, got a few photos of the Gibson system and a short video of the cold start. I tried to do one in the cab but my pic isn't sensitive enough to hear any sound (it really is marginally louder than stock, just a deeper tone). The Gibson kit came with a 5" tip and I remember thinking there's no way I'm running this thing when I first took it out of the box. Once you get it installed, in my opinion, it doesn't look out of place since the rest of the truck is so damn big.

EDIT: Can't seem to get the video to upload... I'll keep trying, not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Gibson exhaust

Looks great. Thanks for the comparison. If we all acted and thought alike it would be a boring world. Different systems for different wants and likes. I think the only way you can upload a video to this Forum is to upload to YouTube and post the link on here. I tried with no avail to get a video on here. Nice truck you have. 👍

Update 7/7/20: I traded the 2019 F250 SCrew for a... wait for it... 2019 F250 SCrew. I know what you're thinking - But, the new one makes diesely noises. I stripped anything I could off of the black truck and will transfer it over so slight step back (or forward) in the build evolution. I've never owned a diesel so this will be a new adventure for me. I've researched the hell out of the maintenance requirements and am prepared to take them on. I have a lot of friends and family with oil burners so at least I'll have some support. I pick up the new to me truck on Thursday and will put up some pictures. Here it is after the test drive:

The dealer is swapping out the stock 18's and Continentals for my 20's with Michelins before I even drive it off the lot. I really don't like that particular 18" wheel/tire combo.

Where in MA are you? I'm i Bedford/Burlington/Lexington.

I have to say I'm surprised that they totalled the 1st truck. I guess it depends on who you have for Insurance.
Looks nice, all of them.
If you run Biodiesel you can roll up to people and say, "Hey, do you smell French Fries ??" It seriously does smell like it. At least it did i. My '06 F350 lol

I'm just north of Gillette, west of Boston. The white truck above I just signed for at Rodman.

The body shop told me the same thing when they first saw it, but I broke the front axle and bent the frame so that did the truck in from a financial perspective. The main impact was the front wheel, it completely shattered the wheel so it definitely hit with some force!

This will be my first diesel so I'm not sure what I'll be running. There's a higher volume gas station near me that sells diesel that I anticipate frequenting. I wouldn't mind my truck my truck smelling like Five Guys, there are worse things it could smell like.

Update, most of the parts from the ‘18 and the black ‘19 are now swapped over. I still have to put the NFab light bar on but it’s showing some rust spots that I want to address before mounting.

black wheels swapped, Diamondback cover mounted and, what you can’t see, the Lariat steering wheel, bed mat, Husky mats, Stage 3 LED lights behind the grille and, I was excited to hear my 12volt solutions remote start is compatible with the diesel so that’s on also.

Happy Turkey Day! Got some new goodies installed over the past month or so. TufSkinz letters, painted the Nfab light bar, installed the Ford 3 LED light below the tailgate and got the Rigid lights mounted up. I ordered a SPE cold air pipe through their Black Friday sale so hopefully that comes soon.

Looks awesome. Is the Gibson system a DPF Back system or did you delete the truck? Does it sound better?
