I understand people often have problems getting the correct brake booster for their application. Truck has a 1978 f250 camper special 2wd cab. I’ve attached a pic of the parts removed but I can’t seem to find any part numbers on either.
Is it safe to say that the only real difference is wether they mount to a bracket, or to the firewall itself? Or is there a pile of different ones?
Thanks in advance for any info.
All 1976/79 F250 2WD's & 4WD's have dual piston calipers & 12" x 2 1/2" rear brakes.
I was hoping you were still around. Thanks very much!
the frame and drivetrain is actually a 79 f150. Had a rusted cab so there was a 78 250 cab put on so I’m assuming they left the 78 booster and m/c intact.
What are the difference in the 2? Bigger reservoir for dual pistons? Or different line configuration?
I also just read that the dual piston caliber master cylinders had the brake lines pointing towards the fender, is this correct? My truck has the brake lines pointing towards the engine. Which is not what the cab would have came with in that case, but what would of been equipped with the frame that the cab is on. I really didn’t think the previous owner swapped the master cylinder or booster. But maybe I should ask him.

I have a 77 F250 and I have single piston calipers on the front. That's not to say that someone somewhere down the line didn't swap them or the axle out, but everything looks original to me.
