Not here to whine about SBC, rather UPS shipping. Received package of
SBB-1944-60KHD
from Summit Racing shipped via UPS, take a look -
Opened the package to inspect and found all but the flywheel packaging padding DESTROYED! Looks like UPS had no concern that this package weighs over 70 pounds (despite label that clearly states this, and specifies use of dolly). Tossed around by hand and beat to hell as evidenced by my own witness as delivery man manhandled to porch. Opened and inspected parts, saw no obvious damage, BUT a package worth over $750 might deserve a reasonable amount of care.
Still waiting on another package (2 days late - also UPS, but under 3 lbs) so perhaps incompetent delivery service can cope!
It was a long time ago, but I "think" the 1939OHD clutch kit I ordered came in a vacuum packed, sealed and very safe box from South Bend which was inside the UPS box. Seeing as I only live 65 miles from Summit Racing, there were no problems with either box.
It sucks that the outer box was destroyed by UPS, but at least South Bend takes great are to ensure their parts arrive safely.
I'm 67 years old, and I can still throw (with hand held hay hooks) 200 bales weighing 100 lbs to shoulder height (not fun and certainly slower than in my prime). What have we become that a young buck either cannot handle this kind of work, or at least use the proper tool.
God help us!
I recently ordered an engine stand that was a smallish HEAVY package. It was also destroyed and my MOM had to help the ups lady unload it out of the truck....
I think SB does an amazing job with their packaging!!
Not to change the subject Jason, do you have the part number for the harness at Rallylights.com . I got the lights from summit but have yet to order the harness. Thanks in advance!

Hey Jason, I need to replace the clutch on a 2001 F-250 that just came in to my possession with the zf6 trans. Any info on how to get one of your brass pilot bearings? Do you also recommend getting the input shift repair sleeve as I have no idea what condition mine is in? The truck has just over 155,000 miles on it.

If you don’t have time to wait after inspecting the input shaft, you can just get a repair kit anyway. It will work on a non-damaged shaft.

Sending you a PM.
I saw your last message on the thread regarding replacing the clutch and hadn't received a PM yet from you. I don't want to rush you but just wanted to make sure nothing had gone wrong trying to get me a message. Thanks again. And I tried to send you a PM but your box is full.
I've had it!
In this major metro area I have been unable to find a shop that would do what I asked - install my parts in the manner I desire.
Heading to the son's ranch in Montana where he has an onsite shop with the space and tools to do a proper job!
Probably register the truck and trailer there also, to get away from Colorado's oppressive registration and emission regs. Besides, he has equipment for me to help repair and operate - and cattle for me to haul!
