Should have sent a picture? Its hard to fathom without one. Most people are quick to judge yet demand the opposite in return. Sign of the times i guess. But, it does not look bad, esp considering the alternatives, some good, some less as good.
I got one a while back. Do you have mounting pics of yours. What about matching paint, what did you use. Mines green as well. I got blasted last time I suggested these.
That's just a picture I stole from a Facebook group
Ok, I bought one of these last night and it seems perfect for a no drill solution. Have not actually used it yet, but for 10$ why not? Great idea Niko
Lots of color choices too, I bought Orange
yep it even has holes you can put pens in too
Be curious how that works, seems to me the angle when installed is going to allow lots of slosh and spillage?
(To date the best I have come up with is a Starbucks insulated cup with a carabiner-style hook on the handle.. I clip it onto the ashtray for long trips. NOT a great solution, it tilts to about the same angle as the bottom of the dash and I can't fill it more than about 2/3.)

I would like to see those gm cup holders installed from the side. They have clearance slits for the dash they are designed for that might look weird. These came on 88-94 gm light duty pickups i believe they were a gm accessory add on. My dad had 2 trucks with these and they were added.

The Harbor Freight option does contact the dash at a slight angle, holds with 6 strong magnets. Magnets are coated with rubber, so no scratching if you worry about that. If your drink has a lid, it works fine. I put 2 Chic-Fil-A drinks in mine (with lids), and had no issue with spilling and the magnets held it securely in place - no problem.
Harbor Freight "cup holder"
The magnets are strong enough to keep it from pulling off, and the metal ridge on the dash actually helps keep it from sliding down. So it works pretty much perfectly. I've found that 20oz bottles of soda don't stay in very well though. Everything else does, like cans, and even Fast food joint cups. Just 20oz bottles that don't stay very well.
Forgot to say that if you go and ask for a magnetic cupholder. They will roll their eyes and say they dont carry that. These are paint can holders for the sides of toolboxes. They are also in a box and not hanging so you can't see them easily.
