V10 heads
Hello All,
Is it possible to use 2001 intake on early 99 V10?
Is it possible to use 2003 Excursion heads and intake on early 99 V10?
Working with Early 99 F350 my sons truck.
Got a dilemma going with my son's truck. He wants to keep the rascal running another 10 years. We had to replace a VC gasket (leaking Oil) and while I had it down went on and decided to do intake manifold gasket. On both sides of the intake gasket at the thermostat there was erosion etc that has enlarged the hole at head and bottom of intake. It is sealed and not leaking at moment. Wanted to see what we had to do to locate some parts and get them ready for when it does start leaking.
I did not want to keep the truck down while I had a machine shop try and weld the holes back to original size and mill it down to correct level to put it back together. Any ideas if this would even work?

Hi Tim. That plan i think should work IF the machine shop is experienced in the surfacing intakes it is common on race cars when you shave the heads to bump up the compression ratios the intake needs to be cut.
There is a V10 sub section to the super duty page there a ton of knowledge over there too.
