The truck has trouble starting~runs rough~then dies. It does this until it warms up a little. I know that it probably a sensor somewhere but I haven't tried to get the codes yet. I kind of figured that if I start rebuilding some things from the intake in through the engine and then the tranny, my son would have a very strong truck. Money and time are in short supply right now. We have maybe a day on the weekend to do some work on it, so priorities must be set. And I figured that the intake would be a good start. Oh, after it warms up it runs well.

I would replace tha IAC. They are under $50 at AutoZone. It is held on by 2 8mm bolts and has 2 wires going to the plug. It is mounted to the throttlebody.
They get gummed up and the actualtor motors get weak over time.
