I was just wondering if anyone knew the fastest ¼ mile for a Ford and any other car/truck of roughly the same type?

If anyone knows I’d like to hear about it I think if would be interesting to see how Fords hold up against the others.

If I remember back, there was a 1/4 mile test run between the big 3, but they were all hauling trailers...

1. Ford
2. Chevy
3. Dodge

I can't remember the times, but they were all close. The Ford and Chevy had diesels and the same rear end gear ratio - the Ford won, but not by much. The Dodge got third because it had 4:10's in the back. All of them will haul, if ya know what you're doin'...

back when the 03 cobra came out. muscle mustangs and fast fords ran that against the camaro ss. The cobra ran like 12.81 and the camaro ran 13.3. The article said that chevy dudes were there to make sure that it was fair. But the cobra has 390hp while the camaro had 325hp. Whoops too bad for chevy.

 

my 03 cobra ran a 13.95. pretty good for a bone stock street car with 500 miles on it. also with a driver to scared to power shift(me) and at a high altitude in pueblo colorado. i just wanted to see what it would do.

 

buddy of mine has a 92 mustang gt 7.0L . it runs 10s with me in the drivers seat. his dad had it down to a 8.97 but thats insane. any how it was a 5.0L but me and him played with nitrois (spelling?) to much and i blew it up. so his dad had a custom built 427cid scj supercharged yadda yadda. it burns 100Low lead aviation gas and alcohol mixed roughly 50/50. but its pretty much a custom built machine

Had my 93 F250 supercab 4X4 460 on the track against a 454 Suburban once. Ford won by a truck length at 16.6 sec 1/4 mile. Would have got in the 15 sec if I had traction and turned off the AC.

At the World Ford Challenge in 2001 I saw a 92 LX Mustang run in the "Wild Street" division and turned in a 7:73 @ 167 mph. That is a street legal car with a full interior, swinging doors, 10" street legal slicks, and factory sheet metal. This time was turned in after a 20 miles hot lap of the city in parade fashion. When they got back from the hot lap, they had to make 3 passes without cooling off, or raising the hood. The motor was a 302 bored to a 347 with twin turbo's. Awesome machine.

Yes, I believe so. Too bad Ford can't make it compete with the Camaro without a blower. Then we could really make it fast with a blower!

 

Well think about the size difference of the engine. Camaros have 350's, Mustangs had 302's and now have the 4.6L 281ci Mod. engine. That's a difference of close to 50 cubes for the 302 and almost 70 cubes for the second one.
